Great Money-Saving Tips for your Destination Wedding

What can be the most amazing wedding a couple can have? Well, you say a wedding that you and your guests will always remember. That would then have to be a wedding that is not only meticulously planned but beautifully conceptualized.

Sounds like a lot of work, doesn’t it? Actually, planning your dream wedding can be fun and expenses don’t have to be on a grand scale either!

How about planning a wedding abroad? Now that sounds really expensive. But there are many who would disagree with you. They would even tell you that marrying away would save you more. How true is that?

Let’s begin with your list of wedding guests. If you’ll have a wedding abroad, expect some people to drop out of your list. That’s quite normal under the circumstances, because it may be inconvenient or too expensive for some of your guests. Unless you’re super-rich, guests at destination weddings usually have to pay for their own fare and hotel stay.

Another way to save is by wisely choosing your wedding destination. Where do you plan to have your big day? Picking an all-inclusive resort can help you save a lot of money on food and drinks for your wedding and stay. There are many Islands in the Caribbean and Mexico that offer all-inclusive options, such as Aruba, the Bahamas and Jamaica!

The most popular wedding theme for weddings away is the beach-themed one. That’s the reason why Caribbean and Hawaiian beach weddings are such a hit. If you can’t afford to go to fly to Hawaii, pick an island closer to home to save on flight costs. Most travel agencies offer packages that cover all types of budgets. There’s nothing wrong with checking all the travel agencies in your neighborhood and start canvassing their rates.

One great perk of having a wedding abroad is the exchange rate. A hundred dollars can go a long way in some countries with cheaper costs of living. Not only that, their services are quite cheaper.
Many favorite wedding destinations have such fantastic views that you may not even need the services of a florist. Not only do you save yourself the hassle of organizing, but you also don’t have to slash from your budget when you pick a fabulous place.

You can also have your wedding and your reception in one place! There are many villas, resorts or hotels that can provide you a venue for your wedding and a reception area to boot. No more trouble with shuttling your guests from one destination to the other. You might even get a discount from the owner or manager for having everything done in one place. Most establishments offer a package deal anyway.

There are what we call “peak” days and “off-peak” days. Saturdays are popular days so you should pick an unusual or “off-peak” day. A Monday wouldn’t be too bad. Most establishments charge lower during slow days. They would eagerly welcome the business that you bring in. Besides, when you celebrate your anniversary ten years later, you wouldn’t even remember what day it was when it happened.

We’ve already mentioned having your wedding and reception in one place. The biggest perk is yet to come and that is your honeymoon. You can have your honeymoon right were you had your wedding! Isn’t that a great way of saving on airfare? You not only saved more from not spending on additional travel fare, but you also get the perfect honeymoon on your dream island or city.
