Tips for Helping the Groom's Parents Plan a Rehearsal Dinner Abroad

You are planning your wedding and you are asking what else you might have forgotten. Everything is going to be perfect for the big day so what else do you have to do? First of all, ask yourself what day comes before the wedding day itself? That’s right – the wedding rehearsal!
Now, the groom’s parents are going to take charge over planning that particular day. Tradition dictates that. But it doesn’t necessarily mean that you can’t have a say in it. You do! It is, after all, your wedding. This also happens to be a tradition that doesn’t have to be followed strictly. Some couples even have their cousins planning the wedding rehearsal.

As the bride, you have already done a lot of the research. You wouldn’t be reading this article if you didn’t want to know all there is about weddings or wedding rehearsal details. Since your beautiful ceremony will be held abroad, all the more you have to help plan your wedding rehearsal carefully. So, share all the information you know about the destination for your wedding. If you are using a wedding coordinator, they will usually assist your future in-laws in planning the rehearsal dinner as well.

First, you need to determine the wedding rehearsal details. Since you are having your wedding abroad, make sure that everyone knows where and what time your wedding rehearsal will be held. You have to consider where your out-of-town guests are staying when it comes to choosing a location. Is it convenient for everyone? Transportation is also a detail you can’t miss. Make sure your guests won’t have a hard time getting to and from your restaurant of choice.

Once you’ve picked the place, pick your rehearsal dinner style and menu. You and your future in-laws should agree on what your guests will get to eat. Should the affair be formal or casual? It matters a lot since you have to make the place conducive to mingling. That is the purpose, remember?

Throw in some activities. No couple would want their guests to just stare at each other in awkward silence. The seating arrangements must also be conducive to conversation. So plan that out too.
Round tables are great conversation generators. Picking them over rectangular tables is always an excellent choice.

Last but not least, relax and enjoy the dinner and bonding between your family and you groom’s. Food and great conversations will always be warmly remembered. Once you’ve achieved all of the above, your wedding is on its way to becoming one of the greatest memories of your future life.
