Tips & Advice
There are a lot of things to get done before your destination wedding, and you’ll want to make sure your groom’s needs don’t get lost on the list. He’ll need to be as ready to look his best as you are. It kind of goes without saying you’ll need to make a dry run to your wedding destination, if at all possible. If not, you’ll need to take into account how the climate will affect your wedding look.
Guys who might be planning to change their usual hairstyle for their wedding should make a dry run with that, as well. A new haircut isn’t a good idea the day before the wedding. Have him try it out a month or two ahead, so he doesn’t end up at the wedding with too short, too long or too frizzy locks. If the haircut is done well in advance with enough grow-out time, he can make sure he looks his best.
Want his smile to shine? Consider a teeth-whitening trip to the dentist or use the at-home version, again, a month or two in advance. If he needs a touch-up before the wedding, the at-home application will refresh his teeth to their whitest in time for your walk down the aisle.
What about his skin? Sometimes a wedding can be stressful for both bride and groom, and stress can make skin breakouts a problem. Consider a regular facial in the months before the wedding, maybe some relaxation time as a couple to de-stress, and add a simple cleaning routine at home, morning and night. Hydration is key to keeping the skin smooth and blemish free, so make sure you’re both drinking enough water.
When you slide that ring on his finger, you probably don’t want to see bitten or rough nails. A manicure can fix that. Not that everyone will be looking at the groom’s hands, but there’s usually a traditional photo of the hands, the rings and the marriage license, so it doesn’t hurt to have his hands looking their best, either. Get an appointment at a nail salon, and go along to get yours done, too, so he won’t feel alone.
Most importantly, put his look together as a couple so he’s less stressed and ready to enjoy your destination wedding, too. |
