Wedding Favors & Extras
Your guests have traveled from all corners of the world to join you at your destination wedding on the beach, so what are you going to give them to take back to the real world in return? You want your favors to be fun and memorable, and mostly, to bring a smile to the faces of the people you and your fiancé love the most.
The beach lends itself easily to favors that are a perfect match with your theme, ranging from silly to sentimental and from simple to extravagant. The beach means something different to everyone, so try to find something that shares why the beach is special for you as a couple with your guests.
Without further ado, here are a few motifs and ideas that are easy to incorporate into lovely favors for your guests to take home.
1.) Seashells – You can put your names or monogram and the wedding date on a seashell from the beach where the wedding is. Place in a pretty box and voila!
2.) Sand – Tie a ribbon around the neck of a small bottle with the wedding date and your names. Fill the bottle with sand from the beach where your wedding actually took place so the guests have a tiny piece of that beach to keep forever.
3.) Sand Bucket – For a less formal wedding, give each guest a sand bucket filled with tropical goodies (Suntan lotions, spa items, chocolates, wine, flip flops, etc.). Your names and wedding date can be added to the shovel that comes with each bucket.
4.) Fish – Stained glass fish or fish ornaments with the name of the location and the date can be both a beautiful and useful keepsake for your guests from your destination beach wedding. The fish can even be engraved with a personal message of thanks to your guests for joining you on your special day.
5.) Message in a Bottle – The idea of a message in a bottle is so romantic; why don’t you steal it? Write a wish or special message for your guests and seal inside a bottle for them to open later.
6.) Flip-flops – Many companies offer flip-flops with customizable writing and images on them just for beach weddings so that your guests don’t have to get their shoes sandy. It’s a cute memento for them to take home after the wedding too.
7.) Tropical Chocolates – Take a unique detour from the traditional favor of chocolate by spicing up the norm with tropical fillings, like key lime pie, coconut, or mango. You can also find chocolates in beach shapes, ranging from simple seashells and starfish to silly flip-flops and sassy sunglasses, making it easy to find a shape to suit your tastes.
8.) Fruity Beach Drinks – If you enjoy cocktails, send your guests home with a glass perfect for a fruity drink, complete with a mix and little umbrella pick to finish it off. Look for margarita glasses in your wedding colors if your wedding destination is Mexico, or mai tai mixes for a Hawaii trip.
To make your beach wedding perfect, just choose a favor that truly represents who you are as a couple. That will be the greatest gift you can give your guests! |
