St. Thomas Wedding Ceremony Locations

The Best Places to Have Your Destination Wedding Ceremony in St. Thomas

If you want a beautiful, picturesque wedding ceremony in paradise, St. Thomas is an excellent location for your destination wedding.  St. Thomas is part of the US Virgin Islands and is home to some of the Caribbean’s finest beaches.  Whether you want to feel the ocean breeze as you say your vows or you’d like to admire beautiful tropical flowers during your first dance, make sure the big day is as special as your love by holding your wedding ceremony in one of these beautiful locations.

Beaches

St. Thomas beaches feature silky white sands and clear turquoise waters.  There are numerous beaches on the island that are perfect for a destination wedding ceremony.  Bluebeard’s Beach is a peaceful, private beach that is a great place to have intimate wedding ceremony because it’s not overrun by cruise ship passengers.  There is also a beach and swimming pool near the beach, making it an ideal spot for a wedding reception party.

Magen’s Beach is often referred to as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.  Its pristine sands and crystal clear waters are the perfect setting for any destination wedding ceremony.  However, Magen’s Beach is known to get crowded during the daytime so it’s best to schedule a wedding ceremony there for early in the morning if you want to avoid the crowds.

If you truly want to get off the beaten path and have your destination wedding ceremony in a serene setting that is literally undeveloped, head to Lindquist Beach in Smith Bay Park.  Lindquist Beach has no facilities on site and its white sands attract destination wedding couples who want an intimate wedding.  You will literally have this beach to yourselves if you come on a weekend or holiday.

Another wonderful destination wedding ceremony location ideal for private weddings is Sugar Beach on Point Pleasant.  Destination wedding couples have to walk on a trail to get to this beach.  Half a mile off the south side of St. Thomas is Water Island, a mostly undeveloped island only reachable by boat.  Couples who want a romantic getaway can get that and much more on Water Island.

Villa Botanica

Villa Botanica is a historic plantation and lush oasis that spans five and a half acres.  Villa Botanica is located in the mountains and features a waterfall, sugar mill, exotic flowers, and spectacular views.  Villa Botanica is a wonderful destination wedding ceremony location for anyone who loves nature.  You can have a poolside ceremony or a ceremony in the lush tropical gardens on the property.  The estate can accommodate a private wedding of two up to a large reception of 200.  Some of St. Thomas’ best caterers are available to serve you at Villa Botanica.

Coral World Ocean Park

Coral World Ocean Park is truly a one-of-a-kind location for a destination wedding ceremony.  Destination wedding couples who tie the knot at Coral World Ocean Park can enjoy a sunset wedding and dinner on a terrace overlooking tropical blue waters.  Destination wedding couples and guests can have the entire park to themselves for their event.  Attractions in the park include a coral reef aquarium, an undersea observatory, marine gardens, a stingray lagoon, a nature trail, and a turtle pool.  For destination wedding couples who would like to get close to St. Thomas’ marine wildlife or who expect to have many children as wedding guests, Coral World Ocean Park is an excellent ceremony location.

The St. Peter Mountain Greathouse

The St. Peter Mountain Greathouse is a scenic destination wedding ceremony spot boasting breathtaking views of the Caribbean and beautiful tropical gardens.  The St. Peter Mountain Greathouse was part of the 500-acre St. Peter Plantation in the 1800s.  The Greathouse features classic West Indian architecture, 150 species of Caribbean fruits and plant life, fish ponds, and tropical birds.  The St. Peter Mountain Greathouse overlooks Magen’s Bay and the Down Island Chain.
