Snorkelers and scuba divers can admire St. Thomas’ gorgeous coral reefs and swim among sea turtles, parrot fish, blue tangs, and more. Blue Island Divers is a dive operator that continues to discover new wreck sites near St. Thomas. Miss Opportunity is a wreck site that features an old hospital ship where advanced divers can see Jew fish, turtles, snappers, and more. The Cartanzar Sr. is a wreck site appropriate for novices to experienced divers. The site features a freighter 45 feet below where divers can see tropical fish, eels, and sharks.
Some popular reefs for diving and snorkeling include Flat Cay, which features slow flying sting rays and many species of tropical fish. At the Easter Reef 80 feet under, you can see eels, bassets, Jew fish, turtles, and sharks. One of the best spots for snorkeling in St. Thomas is Coki Point Beach on the north shore. Snorkeling can be enjoyed year round at Coki Point Beach, which features enticing coral ledges.

Whale Watching
Destination wedding guests heading to St. Thomas between December and March can go on whale watching excursions. Whales migrating from the North Atlantic can be seen around the Virgin Islands throughout this period of time. Humpback whales are the most popular for viewing during whale watching excursions, which usually take place in February and March. The Environmental Association of St. Thomas – St. John (EAST) announces whale watching excursions a few weeks prior to their intended date. You can check for upcoming excursions on their website.

St. Thomas has achieved renown in the Caribbean for its world-class shopping. In Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas’ capital, there are literally hundreds of duty-free shops lining the streets and alleys. Some good buys in St. Thomas include perfume, china, cameras, watches, alcohol, and artwork. Main Street in Charlotte Amalie is home to numerous duty free shops while at Royal Dane Mall and Palm Passage you can find unique boutiques and shops. The stores in Charlotte Amalie are housed in historical buildings so you can sightsee and shop simultaneously.
If you’re looking for trinkets, jewelry, and clothing with a local flair, head to the Vendor’s Plaza across the street from Emancipation Park and Fort Christian in Charlotte Amalie.
