St. Lucia Weddings

St. Lucia is one of the oldest islands in the Caribbean, and also one of the most beautiful. From the rugged peaks of the Piton Mountains to the unspoiled beaches, St. Lucia is one of the more exotic looking islands in the Caribbean. Wedding couples flock to St. Lucia for the dramatic backdrop for their destination wedding. Usually reserved for the islands in the South Pacific, St. Lucia stands apart from the other Caribbean Islands. If you want the cliffs of Hawaii without the long flight, St. Lucia might be our ideal destination wedding location.

Big Reasons Why Couples Should Choose All-Inclusive Destination Weddings in St. Lucia

Dreaming of St. Lucia wedding? Here’s some information to help you plan:

Map of the Caribbean Islands & St. Lucia:

St. Lucia Quick Facts:
Country Population: Approximately 160,000
Capital: Castries
Size: 240 square miles
Language: English, French patois
Religion: Christianity
Official Currency: East Caribbean dollar (U.S. dollar accepted widely)

Transportation:
Most wedding couples and their guests fly to St. Lucia and land at Hewanorra Airport in Vieux Fort (UVF). Most flights originate in Miami from the U.S., although there are a limited number of direct flights from some East Coast cities. Most wedding guests will want to explore the island, and taxi rates can be steep, so we recommend renting a car for at least part of your trip. A destination wedding excursion is a great pre-wedding event to share with your guests.

St. Lucia Marriage Requirements:
Most couples find getting married in St. Lucia to be relatively easy (legally speaking). Wedding couples need to be in St. Lucia for two working days prior to your wedding, and apply for a marriage license. For the most updated information, please contact the St. Lucia registrar.

When’s the best time to get married in St. Lucia?
St. Lucia is warm year-round, with an average high in the low 80’s F. Destination or beach wedding couples can expect warm waters and sunny days most of the time. St. Lucia is in hurricane zone of the Caribbean, although it tends to not get hit as hard as some of the other Caribbean islands. Regardless, you can get more rain during the summer and fall with storm systems, so you should plan in door backup plans for your beach wedding if it occurs during that time.
