On a budget? Where to spend extra for your destination wedding

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

Even if you are on a tight budget, there are a few places you don’t want to skimp on your destination wedding. Here are the places to spend a little extra to make your destination wedding a success!

1. Invest in a good photographer. These are the memories you will have the rest of your life, so don’t leave it to Uncle Herb to take the photos. Also, since many friends and family will not be able to attend your destination wedding if it’s in Hawaii, Mexico, or another exotic location, you’ll want to have great photos to show off the day.

2. Don’t skimp on the music. The right music will help set the ambiance for your wedding and reception. That doesn’t mean it has to be live, but it does have to be appropriate and reflect your personality. Talk to several DJ’s or bands, and get references. This will ensure your destination wedding guests will keep the party going.

3. Lastly, if you can afford a day-of wedding planner, get one. This is your special day, so let someone else worry about the placesettings or officiant arriving on time. Looking to find one? Submit a request and we can help!
